The Ancient Spanish Monastery
A few weeks ago, I was finally able to visit a place that has long been on my "to shoot" list. The ancient Spanish monastery is just as beautiful as it sounds. Gardens, sculptures, history. What more could a photographer ask for?
Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me and my travel partner for the day, the monastery was closing early for a wedding reception, and we weren't able to stay as long as I had hoped. But that doesn't mean I wasn't able to explore for a bit and get to know the place. I'm looking forward to going back, and spend time doing some more exploring.
I limited myself to shooting with just my trusty (and utmost favorite) lens, my 85mm cine. I knew a wider angle would be exactly what would make this shoot successful, and I think I was right.
i also played around some more with HDR photos, as I need practice and HDR is a bit of a weakness in my craft. I'm just so finicky and picky, I never like what I come out with...and end up discarding everything. I'm pretty happy with the few I did shoot, and I think I'll try again when I visit next time. The monastery and all her textures really show their beauty with HDR, and I'm excited to get more!
I really do recommend for everyone to visit at least once, it's too lovely not to see.
Until next time, fellow wanderers!
